Ampicillin is a semi synthetic broad-spectrum bactericidal penicillin derivative acts by inhibition of cell wall
synthesis and is rapidly absorbed in the upper part of the intestine. It reaches its highest plasma
concentration within two hours and mainly excreted in urine and bile.
